From my grandmother's brother, Alexander Thomas McIntyre. I can't thank him enough for giving this to them!! This is where I got so much of my geneology from! My mother and grandmother wrote in this, I did as well (my handwriting needs improvement!) This is a georgeous Illistrated version as well =) I will be building a leather cover for it shortly to help keep it preserved and together. (I do leather work, like leather cases, etc... and yes by hand strictly! I don't use pre-cut stuff....)

My dad in his Navy Days!!

 I am planning of visiting my aunt this spring in New Mexico. Our family, as far as I can tell, were a bunch of pack rats when it comes to family history, heirlooms, etc. I remember she kept photos of everything and has a bunch of stories, I know my dad sure did!! I'm hoping that she will still be around when that time comes, she's not getting any younger. I'm excited, and nervous, to go there. I don't want to be too late in seeing her, I would be very sad and sorry that I didn't do it sooner!

   So a note to everyone out there who is interested in family history, stories, etc... get stories and information from the relatives around you now, don't procrastinate!! You'll blink and before you know it, the time is gone, and so are they.... Happy hunting everyone!!
  My dad passed away July 7, 2006 when I was 16 from lung cancer. He was a Navy SeaBEE during the Vietname war, and he was a whole case full of metals to prove it!!
 He was born April 2, 1935, so he was about 54 when I was born! =) 
He farmed, ranched, and worked for the National Park sericve in Chaco canyon, NM, Glen Canyon, Lake Powell, and Great Basin National Park. He FINALLY retired in 1998(?) and continued to farm and ranch, and raise me and my three sisters =) Yes, he was a very brave man!! He was burined in Cimarron, NM next to his mother and father. A lot of my family is also buried in Elizabeth Town, NM, which I also plan of visiting!
 





Interesting Findings!!

   Finding that my grandmother, and her four brother were most likely raised in an orphanage after their mother, Rebecca McIntyre (Campbell) and Moses McIntyre died at the ages of 37 and 47, I have not been able to locate a cause so far, but am still trying to find out. William McIntyre and Alexander Thomas McInyre were for sure raised in an orphanage, the news paper article I have of my grandfather gives this account.
  I'm grateful that I have had a family to raise me! I did lose my dad at age 16, but I'm glad I at least had him for that long!
 My ancestors traveled all this way, from Sweden, England, and Ireland to provide better lives for themselves and their children and their children's children, etc... If you look at how people had to travel back then, you will appreciate greatly the risk they took traveling to America!! They risked shipwreaking, a great many number of diseases, and poverty, as well as not knowing if the land they were going to was better then what they left behind!

I'm having difficulties tracking down Moses and Rebecca McIntyre, the were born in Ireland, but I have not been able to find parents, or birth places.... so still trying to break down that wall!! =)

The Search Continues....

  I'm using several websites to do the majority of my searching. Www.new.familysearch.org which is free, you can build your own family tree, search, etc. it's format is awesome!! Www.ancestry.com through the Family History Centers that are provided by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it's free, no you don't have to be a member to go in! The people there will help you with whatever they can! You can pay for ancestry.com but it's not the cheapest, and the familysearch website has almost the exact same info. you just can't print some of the censuses, passengers lists, etc. because they belong to ancestry.com.....
www.familysearch.org, the older one of family search. It's format is different, but still very helpful!!
Google on occasion, I found the information about A.T and W.P McIntyre using Google, but as far as names go, it mainly leads me to the above mentioned webpages.

                     Finding out more about my family all around! =) I love history, and learning!

Learning about what it was like for my ancestors in Swede, England, etc. is facinating and helps me appreciate that they were willing to make the journey to the United States. My Great grandmother's grave marker, a stone cross, has one word on it; "Pioneer". This one word speaks volumes to me about what kind of women she was! =)
